For their big day, Danni and Jay planned a relaxed festival wedding. The couple love the outdoors and are both really laid back so the chilled out vibe of their day suited them down to the ground; even rain didn’t stop them having a brilliant time! This awesome couple just proved that rain needn’t dampen spirits and in fact, wet weather lends itself to some magical, atmospheric shots, particularly at night time amongst the festoon lights (which make a cool addition to festival weddings!), and guests with their umbrellas can really add a splash of colour to a grey day. Festival wedding venues are such great blank canvases for couples to stamp their personalities all over and there were so many quirky and interesting details at this one, including endless lengths of home made bunting, an assortment of vintage lamp shades and a spectacular array of vintage china for serving prosecco, as an alternative to traditional flutes, some of which made an appearance in their portraits.
In true festival style, Danni and Jay married in their wellies under a brolly and natural gazebo with a leaf canopy. Their reception was held in the same grounds, in three marquees, complete with disco tent and cinema tent. It was such good fun and their guests really embraced their easygoing, relaxed atmosphere, sitting on hay bales and donning their own wellingtons for much of the day, although there were a few ladies in high heels!. Danni and Jay were effortless to photograph and their carefree attitude towards the rain meant that I was able to embrace the wet conditions, which I feel only enhanced the story of their wedding… They even let me put their rings in the mud! I can happily recommend some awesome festival wedding venues in Staffordshire to any couples who feel that this cool, alternative approach to organising their big day is for them.
